Wayne County’s First Rural Fire Department

 New Hope Fire Department of Wayne County is one of over twenty-five Wayne Country Rural Fire Departments servicing the New Hope, Hood Swamp, Coker’s Mill, Pinewood, Parkstown, Beston, and other Mid-Eastern Wayne County communities. We provide Fire Protection to all these communities and automatic aid to the neighboring Fire Service Districts of Elroy, Saulston, and Northeast Fire Departments. We also provide automatic aid to our neighbors in Greene and Lenoir Counties Shine, Jason, and La Grange Fire Departments, respectively. We have 40-50 personnel on our roster at any given time ranging in years of experience of 1 month to 65 years. We service approximately 25-30 square miles of Wayne County with two stations and eight pieces of apparatus. We service approximately 5600 citizens in the New Hope Fire District.
